The Student Loan Servicing Alliance filed an amicus brief (download below) in Barr v. American Association of Political Consultants to support a bipartisan provision of law which Congress passed to help the federal government and its partners to make contact with borrowers in order to offer them solutions to avoid delinquency and default. Not only does the government have a compelling fiscal interest in this matter, but this positive contact is overseen the the Department of Education to ensure borrowers can access federal entitlement benefits like income driven repayment, deferments, and forgiveness programs.
